Munchx is a personal meal photo diary. Check-in photos, short notes, optional 10-second voice remarks, stickers, and Coins balances are stored on your device. We do not collect precise location, merchant phone numbers, or ordering links.
1. Who we are
Munchx (“we”) provides the iOS app Munchx. This policy explains what the app stores locally and what is not collected.
2. Information stored on your device
When you use Munchx, the following may be saved in on-device storage (UserDefaults and the app sandbox):
- Meal photos you capture or import, plus locally generated food-card exports
- Taste tags, short comments (up to 80 characters), and optional 10-second voice notes attached to a meal
- Drafts, cover/border unlocks, and your Coins balance
- A local display name and public code for the on-device account
- Notification preferences you turn on (meal-time reminders and export-complete alerts)
This data is not uploaded to our servers. Uninstalling the app or revoking the local account deletes it from that device.
3. Permissions
- Camera — photograph dishes when you check in.
- Photo Library — import an existing dish photo, and save exported food cards to Photos.
- Microphone — record a 10-second taste note attached to that meal. It is not used for chats or voice comments.
- Notifications — optional meal-time and export reminders. You can keep them off.
Declining a permission only disables that feature. You can still browse sample plates and keep a written diary.
4. Purchases
Coins are consumable in-app purchases processed by Apple. We receive a StoreKit transaction result on the device so we can add Coins locally. We do not receive your full payment card details. Apple’s privacy policy applies to App Store billing.
5. What we do not do
- No precise GPS tracking or restaurant navigation
- No likes, comments, chats, dating, or friend matching
- No delivery, booking, merchant storefronts, or outbound product links
- No advertising identifier tracking in this version of the app
- No sale of personal information
6. Children
Munchx is not directed at children under 13. Do not use the app to store photos of others without permission.
7. Account controls
Sign out keeps local meal records on the device. Revoke account permanently deletes meals, drafts, and Coins on that device. There is no cloud restore.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and the copy in the app store listing.
